How the day counter works
The counter takes today's date from your device, so the number is right in your own time zone, and counts whole calendar days between that and the date you pick. The start date counts as day one of the gap and today does not, unless you tick the box. With no date chosen it counts from January 1, which gives the day of the year.
For example, from January 1, 2027 to March 1, 2027 is 59 days (31 in January and 28 in February). In the leap year 2028 the same dates are 60 days apart. To compare two dates that are not today, use the days between dates calculator.
Day Counter FAQ
How do I count the days since a date?
Enter the date and the counter shows how many days have passed between it and today, along with the weeks, months and years. For a date in the future it counts the days left instead.
Is today counted?
By default the start date is counted and today is not, so a date that was yesterday is 1 day ago. Tick "Count today as well" if you are counting days in a row, such as a streak or the days you have been on a plan, where both the first day and today count.
What date is 100 days from a date?
Add 100 calendar days. 100 days after January 1, 2027 is April 11, 2027. The milestones table on this page lists 100, 365, 500, 1,000 and 10,000 days after the date you enter.
Does the day counter work for birthdays and anniversaries?
Yes. Enter a birth date to see how many days old someone is, or a wedding date to count the days married. 10,000 days is about 27 years and 4 months, a popular milestone to celebrate.
