How Public Holidays Work in China
China has 13 statutory holiday days (since 2025). The State Council then announces longer breaks each year by moving weekend days, so some Saturdays or Sundays become make-up working days.
Autonomous regions add their own days (e.g. Tibetan New Year), and some days apply only to certain groups — half a day for women on 8 March and for youths on 4 May.
