## **1940 Monday-Start Calendar FAQ**

### **Which months of 1940 start on a Monday?**

In 1940, January, April, and July start on a Monday, so they have no blank cells in the first row of a Monday-start calendar.

### **How many Mondays are in 1940?**

1940 has 53 Mondays. The first is Monday, January 1, 1940.

### **When does the first full Monday-to-Sunday week of 1940 start?**

The first Monday of 1940 is Monday, January 1, 1940. ISO week 1, the week that holds the first Thursday of January, starts on Monday, January 1, 1940.

### **Why start the week on Monday?**

The ISO 8601 standard and most of Europe count Monday as the first day of the week. Saturday and Sunday then sit together at the end of each row, which makes weekends easy to see and lines up with ISO week numbers.
